Meet Josefina and follow her journey of discovering Jesus as her Friend — one story at a time.

Meet Josefina

Josefina is a young girl learning that Jesus is not distant or far away. He knows her name, listens to her heart, welcomes her into His presence, and invites her to share His friendship with others.

Through four connected stories, children walk with Josefina as her friendship with Jesus grows deeper and begins to reach the people around her.

The Four Book Journey

Josefina’s friendship with Jesus grows one step at a time. Across four connected stories, children follow her from a quiet encounter in her heart to the joy of sharing Jesus’ friendship with others.

Josefina’s Tree

Josefina discovers that Jesus knows her name, listens to her heart, and is near even in the quietest moments.

Josefina’s Hello

Josefina begins to understand that she can come to Jesus simply and speak to Him as a Friend, especially in the quiet of the church.

Josefina’s Window

Josefina’s friends become curious about the Friend she visits. Her friendship with Jesus begins to draw others closer.

Josefina’s Door

What began as Josefina’s own quiet friendship with Jesus opens outward. She learns that His friendship is not hers to keep, but a gift to share.

Four stories. One journey. A friendship that lasts forever.

More Than a Story

Each Friends of Jesus Story continues beyond the last page of the story itself. Simple formation pages help children pause, reflect, talk, act, and remember what they have discovered about friendship with Jesus.

MEMORY

HEAD

What did I learn?
A simple truth from Scripture or the story helps children understand more clearly who Jesus is and what His friendship means.

HEART

What is Jesus saying to my heart?
Children are invited to slow down, reflect, and notice how the story speaks personally to them.

CONVERSATION

What can we talk about together?
Gentle questions help children share what they noticed, wondered about, or felt while reading the story.

ACTION

How can I live this friendship?
A simple friendship challenge encourages children to put what they discovered into practice in everyday life.

MEMORY

What truth can I carry with me?
A short prayer, Scripture verse, or friendship truth gives children something simple to remember and return to.

Learning becomes reflection. Reflection becomes prayer. Prayer becomes action. And action becomes a memory of friendship with Jesus.

For Families and Faith Communities

Friends of Jesus Stories Books 1-4 are written for children ages 7–10 and are designed to be read, shared, and talked about together.

They can be used at home, in Catholic schools, in parish settings, in homeschool communities, and in family prayer.

The stories are especially suited for:

Parents and Grandparents
to begin simple conversations about Jesus, prayer, friendship, and faith.

Godparents and Family Friends
to give a meaningful gift that can continue shaping a child’s spiritual life.

Teachers and Catechists
to introduce faith themes through story, reflection, and discussion.

Homeschool Families
to weave Catholic formation naturally into reading and family conversation.

Parishes and Faith Communities
to support children’s ministry, sacramental preparation, prayer groups, and family formation.

Sometimes a child remembers a story long after the lesson is over.
Friends of Jesus Stories are written so that, through Josefina’s journey, children may remember one simple truth: Jesus knows them, loves them, and calls them His friends.
